The Zambian government has prioritized education as a core pillar of development. This is evident in the nationwide free education policy, from early childhood to secondary school level.

In support of government efforts to improve education standards in the country, KEDA Zambia Ceramics and TWYFORD International Energy Limited, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, donated assorted items ranging from school, medical, and food supplies to Chasunta Secondary School.

At the official handover held at Chasunta Secondary School in Chikankata District, Southern Province, Twyford International Group Vice Managing Director, Alvin Zheng said the donation was a sign of the growing friendship between Zambia and China.

 He reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting progressive community initiatives.

 Meanwhile, Eng. Justin Loongo, Managing Director of ZESCO Limited and Board Chairperson of Kafue Gorge Lower Power Development Corporation Limited said:

“Today is not merely about handing over sanitary pads, school bags, diapers, wipes, and cleaning materials. It is about restoring dignity, supporting learning, promoting healthier communities, and demonstrating what can be achieved when responsible institutions work together for the common good,” he said.

Eng. Loongo expects the gesture by KEDA Zambia Ceramics, and TWYFORD International Energy Limited to motivate pupils at Chasunta Secondary School to work extra hard.

“These contributions support three important pillars of our Corporate Social Responsibility agenda: education, health, and sanitation. These areas are closely connected. Children learn better when they are healthy, families thrive when they have access to appropriate care, and communities become more resilient when hygiene and sanitation are prioritized,” he added.

Meanwhile, the ZESCO Managing Director and KGLPD Board Chairperson commended KEDA Zambia Ceramics and TWYFORD International for their unwavering support towards the development of education in Zambia.

“Your support demonstrates the positive impact that can be achieved when corporate partners respond to the practical needs of the communities in which they operate,” he said.
