The Transmission Operations and Trade (TOT) Directorate at ZESCO takes charge of overseeing the transmission assets and serves as the system operator for the Interconnected Power System (IPS). Alongside managing power trading both nationally and regionally, this Directorate operates the National Control Centre (NCC), utilizing advanced automated monitoring and control systems to effectively run the IPS. ZESCO's electricity infrastructure spans Zambia, interconnecting with the national utilities of Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), fostering a broad regional network for power distribution and trade.
